The 2008 China International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Injection Moulding Industry (CIM 2008) was successfully held in Binhai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Tianjin (BICEC), organized by China National Light Industry Council, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, China National Light Industry Machinery Corp., China Light Industry Machinery Association, and Tianjin Binhai New Area Management Committee.

The exhibition area of CIM 2008 totals up to 12,000㎡, with 137 enterprises from Germany, Korea, USA, Japan, Austria, Italy, and China(including Taiwan and Hong Kong) exhibiting during the exhibition. Many famous enterprises showed their latest products and technologies. This proved to be a light-spot of the exhibition and had drawn much attention from both exhibitors and visitors. The total number of visitors exceeded 11,000 during the three day exhibition, 98.5% of which are professional visitors. Besides domestic visitors, visitors from Korea, Japan, Germany, Philippines and China Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, etc. were also attracted.

Professional visitors are from application fields such as automobiles, electronics, home appliances, and medicines. Exhibitors obtained unexpected and considerable profits from the event. According to incomplete statistics, during the exhibition period, 219 sets of plastics & rubber machinery and ancillary equipment were sold, and the volume of transaction amounted to 109.5723 million RMB.

Leading manufacturers of plastics and rubber injection molding industry coming from more than ten countries and regions, such as Arburg, Demag from Germany, wittamann, Dega from Italy, Rep from France, Nessei, Matsui, Kawata, Sailor, Asahi Kasei, CaiHuang, TechnoCoat, Showa from Japan, Conair, OGP from America, LS, LSCHEM form Korea, Regloplas from Switzerland, Haitian, Donghua, Borch, Sound from China mainland, UNION PLASTIC, TUNGYU, Jiaxin, YUH-DAK, GAS INJECTION, O B KOGYO from China Taiwan and Hong Kong, came to CIM 2008 and exhibited their latest products and technologies, aiming to offer ideal solutions to their end-users.

In order to meet the current economic development trends, exhibitors showed their energy-saving equipments to visitors, such as the Allrounder—the golden injection moulding machine from Arburg, e-max series—the all-electric injection moulding machine from Engel, Tianlong MA series—the injection moulding machine from HAITIAN, ANX80-9A from NISSEI, servo energy-saving injection moulding machine from DONGHUA, Jielong AC series—the servo injection moulding machine from BORCH, KTS series—the high-precision servo injection molding machine from Sunslux Forstar, etc..

In CIM 2008, in order to provide a platform for communicating between scientific research institutes, institutions of higher learning and users, a new area is opened to visitors—“New Material, New Technology Show Zone”. It’s a platform for the transformation from achievements in scientific research to market goods.

This zone which includes 31 academe, universities and famous enterprises and about 132 items is about 440㎡, such as Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing Technology & Business University, South China University of Technology, Sichuan University, Taiyuan University of Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, NCM, etc.

There were about 1,003 visitors asked for the information on the zone and over 213 visitors filled in the feedback form during the show. On the locale, 12 items were signed for cooperation or transfer, 35 items were agreed to be cooperated or transferred, and plenty of items are still in contact.

During the exhibition, the “2008 Symposium on the application of the injection moulding technologies in electronics and medical industry”, “Professional and technological training on ‘gas-assisted injection moulding’ and ‘hot runner’ technologies”, and “the 2nd Annual Conference 2008 on Infection Moulding Industry” were also held.

This exhibition won the acclaim from both exhibitors and visitors. Mr. Cui, the general manager of DEGA, said that visitors to the exhibition are very professional and of high-quality. Mr. Wu, the general manager of SHINI (Ningbo), said that CIM 2008 is the best among all shows in north China they had ever participated in. Mr. Li, the general manager of COSMOS (Wu Xi) Tianjin branch company, had been busy receiving clients. Ms. Li and Mr. Chen, market assistant of ARBURG (Shanghai) and the sales supervisor of DEMAG (Ningbo) respectively, said that the CIM 2008 brought them a big surprise, and was beyond their expectation. The general manager of NISSEI and Mr. Nils Steinau from WITTAMANN BATTENFELD were satisfied with the exhibition, and gave his best wishes to CIM 2010. The success of CIM 2008 was affirmed by all exhibitors, and said they will com to exhibit again in CIM 2010.

The visitors in CIM 2008 are from the application field of automobile, electronic, home appliances, medicine, etc., such as Hi-P, BYD, MOTORALA, Green Point Group, Yamaha, SAMSUNG electronic, LG electronic, ALPS, FUJITSU, foxconn, FUYU, Yaguang Nypro, Jinya electronics, LOTTE. The high-rank and high-quality of the show is fully affirmed by those professional visitors, and in the exhibition, they found the equipments they wanted. The visitors also said that CIM 2008 was the best exhibition in Bohai Economic Zone, and the exhibits were all the latest and helpful to them, and they would focus on the CIM 2010.
